The mission of the Saint Barnabas Catholic Church Respect Life Ministry is to inform the people of the parish on the principles of Catholic social teaching, which have as their foundation the immeasurable dignity of every human person; to apply the teaching for authentic action on current local, national and international justice issues; and to develop a formed, organized constituency to advocate for public policy which affirms human life and human dignity and reflects a consistent life ethic.
The Respect Life Ministry seeks to accomplish its mission both through the development and support of parish leaders, and in the broader community through collaboration with organizations serving the preservation of life.
In the past we have participated in Pro Life Marches, Life Chains, presented literature at Planned Parenthood offices, sponsored Pro Life Dinners (along with the Knights of Columbus), and maintained an active presence on pro life websites with appropriate information and political action opportunities. If you are interested in any one of these items and want to be placed on our email list please contact the Ministry Head, Bob Kalowes, at (562) 225 1946 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Always remember to pray for the dignity of human life from conception to natural death.
